labSketch

System design and documentation for integration teams

labSketch is a desktop-native application for modeling system topology, validating signal flow and IO compatibility, and producing schematic and schedule deliverables. It gives engineering teams a focused place to design, validate, and document technical systems with confidence.

Overview

labSketch fills the gap between design intent and deliverables. Instead of disconnected diagrams and manual checks, teams model devices and connections from structured IO data, validate cable types and port direction as the graph evolves, and export clean PDF schematics plus cable and termination schedules.

The tool is built to fit existing workflows: it works alongside D-Tools and quoting tools, does not replace CAD or BIM, and focuses on the thinking layer between design and documentation.

Core Capabilities

Model, validate, and deliver with confidence

System topology modeling

  • •Drag-and-drop device blocks on a zoomable canvas
  • •Structured IO ports by type and direction
  • •Typed connections and layered relationship views
  • •Library-driven device placement and reuse

IO validation engine

  • •Port compatibility checks before deployment
  • •Direction-aware connection rules (IN, OUT, BIDIR)
  • •Cable type validation and conflict detection
  • •Signal path tracing as the graph evolves

Documentation and delivery

  • •Viewport-based sheet composition for print sets
  • •ANSI-style schematic exports (PDF)
  • •Cable, termination, and label schedule exports
  • •Consistent IDs and revision-safe output

Platform and availability

labSketch is a desktop-native app for fast local workflows, offline use, and no cloud lock-in. Beta support for macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows; iOS planned for mobile review and field workflows.
